New Years Greetings

Dear Lori:

We had an "event full" third season at Ocean Wilderness Inn.  Some of the events were planned and some not.
Early in January 2009 a heavy rain washed out sections of our rain-forest trail to the beach.  Andy, Mark and Raine took charge of the repair - assisted by our brothers Steve and Lyndon when they visited with the Barber clan.
Patrick Lane's poetry writing retreat, formerly known as the Glenairly retreat, occurred in March and reoccurred in December.  We look forward to seeing them again in March 2010.
A quintet participating in the Sooke Harbour Chamber Workshop graced our dining room with music in May.
Leslie Redhead coached and instructed 3 watercolor painting workshops.  We look forward to the first 2010 workshop in May.
Matt & Rebecca and Sue & Tom were married at the Inn.  We also welcomed guests from weddings at Craidelonna.

We also hosted hiking groups, foodies, art-lovers, book clubs, pets and more.  We celebrated the Inn's 20th year in business.  It was among the first b&bs in Sooke.

We had terrific house concerts. (There is another one coming up soon - Sunyata on February 21.)
Even non-event days were memorable with all our great guests.  Thank you for your continued interest in our Ocean Wilderness Inn adventure.

Upcoming House Concert

Sunyata will fill the inn with passionate, not too late for another Valentine celebration, music.

What's next?
As many of you know, the Inn adventure was at Lori's instigation (her mid-life crisis).  Our next adventure will be of Andy's choosing.  He is currently seeking work that will utilize his training and experience.  Since there is not a huge demand for PhD-level biomedical engineers in Sooke, we are gearing up for a move.

Ocean Wilderness Inn is listed for sale with Peter Birrell at Re/Max Realty.   If you are interested in your own adventure at Ocean Wilderness Inn, please contact Peter for details.

ps There is a great video of the Inn on Peter's web site.
