That is, until the government ripped down their shacks and evicted them.Premiering on Thursday, July 12 at 8 p.m., the fascinating one-hour documentary Sombrio leads a new line-up of With Glowing Hearts, Knowledge Network’s collection of documentaries exploring Canadian culture and history.
Premiering to sold-out houses at the 2006 Victoria Independent Film and Video Festival, Sombrio is an hour-long documentary about this unique community and what eventually became of the residents. Sombrio is produced and directed by Nanaimo filmmaker Paul Manly.
